Florida State University Promoters Rep LMFAO in Style: "I'm In Tally Bitch"

"We expect to sell thousands of pre-sale tickets and we're hoping to sell out completely at the door," said a promoter with Florida State University's Committee Entertainment, the planning team for the highly anticipated Rivalry Music Festival featuring LMFAO.

When I arrived in my Party Rock Gear at the FSU Student Union, I was pleasantly surprised to see the Rivalry crew and throngs of students sporting "I'm In Tally Bitch" shirts, the official uniform of the Rivalry Music Festival.

"Everyone is just so pumped up for LMFAO", another promoter told me. "We have world-famous DJs coming to this event, a beer pong tournament, all kinds of things...it's going to be bigger than [Tallahassee's legendary] St. Patty's day block party...but no one can stop talking about LMFAO. They're our big selling point."

"Sky Blu just did a radio interview with HOT 104.9," he continued. "That's Tallahassee's biggest radio station. It's going to air on Friday, September 4. We can't wait to hear it."

I joined the group of promoters as they made their way through the student union and across the campus, stopping students along the way. One held a boom box over his shoulder, blasting "Yes", "I'm In Miami Bitch", and "I Am Not A Whore."

Director of Advertising, Lukasz "Dayglow" Tracz, didn't get the memo that the Party Rock Crew and LMFAO fans rock the "no lenses" rather than the Kanye-inspired shutter shades, but he came out in full force with his "I'm In Miami Bitch" shirt. His fellow promoters joked, "he just turns on when we play this song," referring to "Rock the Beat." Each time the opening notes came through the boom box, he busted a move--jumping on tables, running up to students and thrusting before handing them flyers.

I got more details on the performance while we walked around campus: a slight change of plans being that LMFAO is no longer scheduled to close out the party inside the club, Floyd's Music Store. Instead, LMFAO will be the last act on the outdoor stage (music ends at 10 p.m.). However, LMFAO will really be getting the party started as it continues inside the clubs along the Strip (Floyd's, Lower Lounge, and the Irish Pub) until 2 a.m.
"LMFAO is coming straight from the airport to the festival," another promoter added. "We're told they're coming right from Vegas. They don't even get time to relax...they have to hit the stage before 10! I don't know how they do it."
"That's Party Rock," I tell him.

Florida Party People should arrive early for a good spot. Tickets are still available online here. You can also purchase tickets at the door for $20.
Don't stop Party Rockin' there: follow LMFAO to Orlando, FL two days later on September 8 (at The Roxy), Miami, FL on September 9 (at LIV), and Tampa on September 10 (at The Kennedy Soho).
Fans can win free tickets to the Orlando and Tampa shows here. The first 250 ladies in Orlando get in free and ladies are in free in Tampa all night long.

LMFAO Does New York

From the sold-out show at Blender Theater Gramercy to the rooftop of Hudson Terrace, LMFAO took over New York City this summer.

LMFAO rocked the beat and the show at the Blender Theater on June 18, 2009. While the crowd was much younger than usual (the bouncer said the average age was 16), the venue was packed to full capacity with people of all ages screaming, "I'm in New York, bitch!"

As always, the show was high energy; David Rush even joined LMFAO onstage to perform "Shooting Star."
The highlight of the night? At one point, nearly 75% of the audience was onstage. While security tried to step in, fans scaled the barricades for their chance to dance with the group. The stage was jam-packed with smiling, laughing fans, dancing and singing along with every word--something you rarely, if ever, see at a concert other than LMFAO's.The boys returned to Manhattan on July 14, 2009 for a show on the rooftop of Hudson Terrace, a luxurious NYC club in Hell's Kitchen.

The show, which was 21+, attracted a mix of club-goers in need of an introduction to Party Rock and diehard fans that followed LMFAO out from Long Island (in true LMFAO fashion, the boys did two back-to-back shows in one night).

On August 5, 2009, LMFAO returned to the big city for three performances in a 24-hour period.

After celebrating the premiere of LMFAO's Real World Cancun episode on MTV, LMFAO hit the stage at Central Lounge in Astoria, Queens.

As would be expected, Grey Goose and Red Bull were waiting in the VIP section.
The boys killed it with fan favorites, "I'm In New York Bitch", "Yes", "La La La", and more as fans climbed on to the stage to dance and share the communal bottle of Goose, an integral part of the performance.

Not even ten minutes after getting offstage, it was off to the limo and on to the second show of the night back in Manhattan at Greenhouse.

The Party Rock Crew hosted "Magic Wednesday" at the popular NYC spot.

Joey Rozmus, of MTV's Real World Cancun, made a surprise appearance and came out to party with LMFAO.

The following night, August 6, 2009, LMFAO took the stage at the Highline Ballroom in NYC's Chelsea/Meatpacking District.

The boys launched into "I'm In Miami Bitch", rather than "I'm In New York Bitch" for a change of pace and, while security tried their hardest to keep the girls off the stage at this performance, the show went on--Foo and Sky made sure the fans got their money's worth.

The New York Times was there, too--check out the article here: NY Times LMFAO Concert Review

LMFAO Press and Promotions in Tallahassee, FL

The FSView and Florida Flambeau, Florida State University's student newspaper, published an article on LMFAO in its August 27, 2009 issue. The piece, appropriately titled, "Party like a rock star", features an interview with Redfoo.

Check it out here and comment to show your love for LMFAO!

Rivalry Music Festival promoter, Lukasz Tracz, is rocking his Party Rock gear (available here), around the FSU campus to advertise the event.

"During the week prior to the event, all of the students will be back in Tallahassee and we'll be dressing our promoters in Miami shirts with afros and [no lenses]...walking around town, passing out flyers to promote LMFAO and RMF," he says.

Tracz, who purchased his Party Rock merch at Ultra in Miami, says his "I'm In Miami Bitch" shirt is a huge hit at his college.

Committee Entertainment, the student organization in charge of coordinating the Rivalry Music Festival, put together a video featuring LMFAO.

Tallahassee, Florida Gets Ready to Party Rock with LMFAO

Said to be the biggest event in Tallahassee history, the Rivalry Music Festival hits Florida's capital on Sunday, September 6, 2009.

LMFAO is the headlining act, performing alongside Miami producer, George Acosta (ranked #59 on DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJ list), DJ Irie, the official Miami Heat DJ, and legendary house music producer/DJ Robbie Rivera.

"The craziest party of the year", according to Committee Entertainment, the masterminds behind the music festival, will feature a beer pong tournament, a bikini contest, and a gaming tent--all in celebration of the first football game of the year (and the biggest rivalry in the state)--the Florida State Seminoles v. the University of Miami Hurricanes.

The event will shut down "the Strip", the infamous part of Tennessee Street. Floyd's Music Store, the Irish Pub, and the Lower Lounge will be open all day long--each club will represent a different music genre. An outdoor stage will also be set up.

The party kicks off at noon and goes past 2 a.m. on Monday, September 7.

Can you say "drink all day, play all night?"

When asked which act they're most excited for, both Committee Entertainment planners and FSU students agree: LMFAO. "They have a bright future ahead," says Committee Entertainment Director of Advertising & Marketing, Lukasz Tracz.

Flyers for the event are all over town--from the FSU campus to its surrounding bars, clubs, and restaurants. Rivalry Music Festival commercials play on Tally's HOT 104.9 during every commercial break, and students are getting pumped up, screaming, "I'm in Tally, bitch!" when "I'm In Miami Bitch" comes on in the clubs.

The town is expecting thousands upon thousands of both Florida State students and University of Miami students (traveling from Miami, bitch for the big game). Floyd's has a maximum capacity of just a few hundred, so fans should get there early to see LMFAO rock the beat and rock the show.

LMFAO takes the stage at Floyd's toward the end of the Rivalry Music Festival--undoubtedly, they are saving the best for last.

The Tallahassee show kicks off a 5-day Florida tour. Miami fans can catch LMFAO again on September 9, 2009 at LIV.

Start the pre-game early with LMFAO!

Top 5 Ways to Interact with LMFAO

LMFAO's Social Media Presence Enables Fans to Connect with the group

1. Join the party at PartyRockPeople

Few music groups have websites that are so interactive, fans can not only become members, but can also interact with the musicians themselves.

PartyRockPeople brings people together. LMFAO's Redfoo and Sky Blu, as well as the rest of the Party Rock Crew, are among the site's members. Fans can quickly register for free. Once a fan becomes a member, he or she can upload media files (pictures, videos, etc.). One of the site's many unique features is its ability to link with Twitter. Members that also maintain Twitter accounts can "tweet" via PartyRockPeople (PRP). Update your status on PRP and it will automatically re-post on your Twitter profile. Additionally, photos that members upload to PRP will appear on Twitter profiles, much like a TwitPic.

PRP enables members to update their statuses and upload photos on-the-go, as well. Simply set up your PRP e-mail address and send status updates and photos (the caption or update goes in the subject line of the e-mail) from your mobile device.

LMFAO's members frequently comment on fans' profiles and photos. They often respond to fan comments, as well, making them truly unique in that they are easily accessible and involved with their fan base.

2. Become a Fan of LMFAO on Facebook

Visit LMFAO's Facebook to become a fan. LMFAO will appear under "Pages" on your Facebook profile, making it easy to access the page to view status updates, photos, and more. Leave LMFAO comments on their wall and statuses and upload your fan photos to share with the rest of the Facebook community!
